Due Diligence is a concept of recent origin, which started, with the arrival of foreign and MNC business into our country consequent to economic reforms including liberalization. The continued process of globalization with popularity of India as hub of IT activity for BPO work and also India being considered as a global destination for various types and kinds of manufacturing/service activities is creating more and more due diligence work. Any foreign entity before starting a relationship/ participation with a local entity as either an equity partner, or a joint venture partner or for any kind of participation will normally insist and get the due diligence conducted.

Due Diligence is the process of obtaining sufficient reliable information about the business entity to help uncover any fact, circumstances or set of conditions that would have a reasonable likelihood of influencing a business decision or the making of an offer of a consideration price to complete the transaction.
